Mike visits the Boys & Girls Club to hold free basketball clinic

Mike’s long lasting impact on the community.

Former basketball coach Michael J. Friedman has spent decades working with young people to help them develop both their basketball and life skills over the past four decades.

Friedman, currently a real estate finance executive and motivational speaker, recently hosted 90 children between the ages of 9-16 for a complimentary basketball clinic at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Cleveland.

At the clinic, Friedman provided the players with basketball knowledge and had them run a series of drills designed to enhance their skills.  The former coach also provided a motivational talk to encourage the young people in attendance.

Friedman’s coaching career included stints as an assistant under Hall of Famer Pat Riley and as a head coach at both the high school and collegiate level.  He’s conducted more than 200 basketball clinics throughout his career.

“We make a living by what we get. We make a life by what we give.”

Friedman is the Founder and CEO of ‘Mike Talks,’ an organization that provides inspirational talks and corporate sales training for groups around the country.  Friedman’s candid and often hilarious presentations are made through story-telling and based on his eclectic life experiences.

As part of his speaking engagements, Friedman has vowed to conduct a complimentary basketball clinic at a Boys and Girls Club in each of the cities where he makes his presentations.

He’s also making an unprecedented offer to those who hire him for either an inspirational talk or corporate sales training:  If for whatever reason if the organization that hired Mike isn’t satisfied with his presentation, he’ll donate half of his fee to the Boys and Girls in that city.
